Train, Validate, and Schedule PLA Models

Once your Predictive Learning Analytics Model has been created, you can now train, validate, schedule, and more.

To access these features of PLA models:

  1. Go to “Predictive Models” under the “Apps” tab in your IntelliBoard Pro.

  2. Find the PLA model you want to access and click the three dots under the “Actions” column to open a menu.

  3. Select the action.

Train: In this process, historical data is gathered from your report and analyzed. This process takes some time. You do not need to remain on this page or remain logged in to IntelliBoard during this process. 

Validate: Once your model training is complete, you can validate your model. The training process holds out some training data and uses it to test the accuracy of the model. The overall quality of the model is summarized in the "AUC" value below the chart.

Predict: After your model is trained, you may trigger predictions manually. You can view these in the “Prediction Outcome: Learners at Risk (Per Enrollment)” default report.

Results: View results of this model.

Schedule: After your model is trained, you may schedule predictions.

Clone: To clone the PLA model

Delete: Will delete this model from IntelliBoard.

 

Frequently Asked Questions:

You can view predictions in the “Prediction Outcome: Learners at Risk (Per Enrollment)” default report. This report displays the most recent prediction for each learner, along with other data that can be used to help interpret the prediction. 

To create notifications based on predictions, edit the “Prediction Outcome: Learners At Risk (Per Enrollment)” report or your own output report to include the email address you wish to send the notification to (learner, instructor, advisor, etc.) and follow the directions for Creating Notifications.
