Learner Dashboard Set Up and Permissions

After it is enabled, the Learner Dashboard is automatically associated with the [Student] Role in the LMS System. Learners do not need a separate IntelliBoard account to utilize the Learner Dashboard. IntelliBoard User with admin permissions must set up Learner Dashboards and Permissions.

Assigning Learner Roles

  1. From the SITE ADMINISTRATION block in your LMS system, click through the following: Site Administration > Plugins > Local plugins > http://IntelliBoard.net Plugin > Settings

  2. From Settings, scroll to the Dashboard Filters header. Then scroll to [Student] Roles.  Choose the roles you want to have access to the Learner Dashboard.  Click "Save changes" in your LMS system.

  3. NOTE: If you are using custom roles, please also ensure the custom role has the ability to view IntelliBoard in the role permissions.  Additionally, the custom role must also be selected in the settings (image above). 

    To check the Permissions, please click through the following: Site Administration > Users > Permissions > Define Roles and ensure any custom student roles have IntelliBoard [Student] set to allow (image below).

Confirming Your Subscription

  1. From the ADMINISTRATION block in your LMS system, click through the following: Site Administration > Plugins > Local plugins > http://IntelliBoard.net Plugin > Settings

  2. Subscription: Ensure the email that is associated with the http://IntelliBoard.Net subscription is correctly entered.  Click "Save changes" in your LMS system.

Enabling and Renaming the Learner Dashboard

  1. From the ADMINISTRATION block in your LMS system, click through the following: Site Administration > Plugins > Local plugins > http://IntelliBoard.net Plugin > Settings

  2. Scroll down the settings page to "Learner Dashboard"

 

  1. Renaming:
    To personalize the Learner Dashboard name to best meet your organization's terminology, change the name in the text box.  Click "Save changes" in your LMS system.

  2. Enabling: To enable the Learner Dashboard for all users in your LMS system with the [Student] Role, make sure the check box is clicked. To disable the Instructor Dashboard for all users in the LMS system, unclick the box.  Click "Save changes" in your LMS system.

  3. You can further customize your Learner Dashboard by deciding which tabs or report columns you would like to see.

Setting the Learner Dashboard Report Permissions

  1. From the ADMINISTRATION block in your LMS system, click through the following: Site Administration > Plugins > Local plugins > http://IntelliBoard.net Plugin > Settings  

  2. From Settings, scroll to the Learner Dashboard Header.

  3. Enabling and disabling the specific components of the Learner Dashboard will change the Learner Dashboard for everyone.  While the data within the Learner Dashboard will change based off the specific student, the template for the Learner Dashboard remains the same. 

  4. If the check box is clicked, the item is enabled for all with Learner Dashboard access.  If the check box is not clicked, the item is disabled.

 

 

Settings: Learner Dashboard

  1. From the ADMINISTRATION block in your LMS system, click through the following: Site Administration > Plugins > Local plugins > IntelliBoard.net Plugin > Settings

  2. This group of Time filters relate to the Activity Progress and Course Progress widgets.  

    Last Month: Last full month; ex/ Today's date is August 8, 2018. Last Month would be July 2018.

    Last Quarter: Last full four months; ex/ Today's date is August 8, 2018.  Last Quarter would be from April 2018 - July 2018.

    Last Semester: Last full six months; ex/ Today's date us August 8, 2018.  Last Semester would be from February 2018 - July 2018.

    This Year: Curent year; ex/ Today's date is August 8, 2018. This year would be August 8, 2017 through August 8, 2017.

    Last Year:  Last full year; ex/ Today's date is August 8, 2018. Last Year would be 2017.

  3. This group of settings relates to the details on the top right corner of the Dashboard tab: 

    Completed Courses: The number of visible courses that the learner is enrolled to and has completed based on the Course Completion settings for that specific course inside the LMS system.

    Courses in Progress: The number of visible courses that the learner is enrolled to in the LMS system.

    Course Avg. Grade: The Average Grade represents the learner's average grade in his/her enrolled courses that are visible in the LMS system (not depending on complete/incomplete status).

    Course Sum Grade: 

    Messages: Clicking the hyperlink will bring the learner to his/her messages within the LMS system.

  4. Enabling Instructor Can see own students allows the Instructor to log on as him/herself and go to the Learner Dashboard.  At the Learner Dashboard, the instructor can toggle between his/her own students.  

    NOTE: When providing this access, the Instructor will be able to see his/her students' full courses details.

  5. Enabling Student Redirect will automatically bring users to the Learner Dashboard page upon log in.
