After it is enabled, the Learner Dashboard is automatically associated with the Student Role in the LMS System. Learners do not need a separate IntelliBoard account to utilize the Learner Dashboard. IntelliBoard User with admin permissions must set up Learner Dashboards and Permissions.

Assigning Learner Roles

 To assign learner roles
  1. From the SITE ADMINISTRATION block in your LMS system, click through the following: Site Administration > Plugins > Local plugins > IntelliBoard.net Plugin

  2. From Settings, scroll to the Dashboard Filters header. Then scroll to Student Roles.  Choose the roles you want to have access to the Learner Dashboard.  Click "Save changes" in your LMS system.

  3. If you are using custom roles, please also ensure the custom role has the ability to view IntelliBoard in the role permissions.  Additionally, the custom role must also be selected in the settings (image above). 

    To check the Permissions, please click through the following: Site Administration > Users > Permissions > Define Roles and ensure any custom student roles have IntelliBoard [Student] set to allow (image below, ‘Student’ will be replaced by your custom role name).

Confirming Your Subscription

 To confirm subscription
  1. From the ADMINISTRATION block in your LMS system, click through the following: Site Administration > Plugins > Local plugins > IntelliBoard.net Plugin

  2. Subscription: Ensure the email that is associated with the IntelliBoard subscription is correctly entered. Click "Save changes" in your LMS system.

Enabling and Renaming the Learner Dashboard

 To Enable and Rename the Learner Dashboard
  1. From the ADMINISTRATION block in your LMS system, click through the following: Site Administration > Plugins > Local plugins > IntelliBoard.net Plugin

  2. Scroll down the settings page to Learner Dashboard Header

  1. Renaming:
    To personalize the Learner Dashboard name to best meet your organization's terminology, change the name in the text box.  Click "Save changes" in your LMS system.

  2. Enabling: To enable the Learner Dashboard for all users in your LMS system with the [Student] Role, make sure the check box is clicked. To disable the Learner Dashboard for all users in the LMS system, unclick the box.  Click "Save changes" in your LMS system.

  3. You can further customize your Learner Dashboard by deciding which tabs or report columns you would like to see.

Setting the Learner Dashboard Permissions

 To set the Learner Dashboard Permissions
  1. From the ADMINISTRATION block in your LMS system, click through the following: Site Administration > Plugins > Local plugins > IntelliBoard.net Plugin 

  2. From Settings, scroll to the Learner Dashboard Header.

  3. Enabling and disabling the specific components of the Learner Dashboard will change the Learner Dashboard for everyone.  While the data within the Learner Dashboard will change based off the specific user, the template for the Learner Dashboard remains the same. 
    If the check box is clicked, the item is enabled for all with Learner Dashboard access. If the check box is not clicked, the item is disabled.

Settings: Learner Dashboard

 General Learner Dashboard Settings
  1. Enable Learner Dashboard under Site Administration > Plugins > Local plugins > IntelliBoard.net Plugin > Learner Dashboard.
    NOTE: Learner Dashboard can be enabled and set only by Site Administrators.
    NOTE: Enabling Show "Learner Dashboard" in Navigation Block menu only for enrolled learners will show Learner Dashboard for all users who’re enrolled at least into 1 course.

  2. The 1st group of time filters relate to the Activity Progress and Course Progress widgets.  

    • Time filter: 7 Days: Add a filter option for filtering by the last 7 days; ex/ Today's date is August 8, 2024. Last 7 days would be August 1, 2024.

    • Time filter: Last 30 Days: Add a filter option for filtering by the last 30 days; ex/ Today's date is August 8, 2024. Last 30 days would be started from July 9, 2024.

    • Time filter: Last 3 Months: Add a filter option for filtering by the last full 3 months; ex/ Today's date is August 8, 2024.  Last 3 Months would be started from May 8, 2024.

    • Time filter: Last 6 Months: Add a filter option for filtering by the last full 6 months; ex/ Today's date us August 8, 2024.  Last 6 Months would be from February 8, 2024.

    • Time filter: This Year: Add a filter option for filtering by the curent year; ex/ Today's date is August 8, 2024. This year would be started from January 1, 2024.

    • Time filter: Last Year: Add a filter option for filtering by the last full year; ex/ Today's date is August 8, 2024. Last Year would be 2023.

    • Time filter: All Time: Add a filter option for filtering by the last all time.

  3. The 2nd group of settings relates to the details on the top right corner of the Dashboard tab: 

    • Completed Courses: The number of visible courses that the learner is enrolled to and has completed based on the Course Completion settings for that specific course inside the LMS system.

    • Courses in Progress: The number of visible courses that the learner is enrolled to in the LMS system.

    • Course Avg. Grade: The Average Grade represents the learner's average grade in his/her enrolled courses that are visible in the LMS system (not depending on complete/incomplete status).

    • Course Sum Grade by Grade Scale Value: Course Sum Grade displays the learner’s course total grade in percentage of his/her enrolled courses that are visible in the LMS system (not depending on complete/incomplete status).

    • Messages: Clicking the hyperlink will bring the learner to his/her messages within the LMS system.

  4. The 3rd group of settings relates to the Learner Dashboard Customization:

    • Instructor can see own students: Enabling this setting will add a filter to Learner Dashboard for Instructors, allowing them to review learners' progress from their own accounts. Select an Instructor Role who’ll get such ability.
      NOTE: When providing this access, the Instructor will be able to see his/her students' full courses details.

    • Student Redirect: Enabling this will automatically bring users to the Learner Dashboard page upon log in. 

    • Show hidden/suspended courses for [student]: Enabling this will include the data from hidden/suspended courses into the Dashboard view.

    • Enable "Badges" report: This setting will add Badges tab to the Learner Dashboard for all your LMS users.

Settings: Learner Dashboard Page

 Enable Dashboard

Clicking Enable Dashboard under the Learner Dashboard Page, enables the "Dashboard" tab and allows access to the remaining widgets in this category.

 Activity Progress

Enabling Activity Progress allows a learner to track his/her graded activities (green dot line) compared to his/her peers' graded activities (blue line).

 Course Progress

Enabling Course Progress allows the learner to see all of his/her enrolled courses, and his/her grade (green line) compared to the learner's peers grades (blue bars).

 My Course Average

Enabling My Course Average displays the learners course average in all courses (green percentage).  

Enabling Overall Course Average displays the learners' peers course average in all courses (blue percentage).

 Assignments Widget

Enabling the Assignments Widget allows the Assignments table to appear.  This table will  include the learner's assignment activities in all courses.

The Assignment Widget can be modified by enabling/disabling the following collumns: 

  • Grade 

  • Due Date

 Quizzes Widget

Enabling the Quizzes Widget allows the Quizzes table to appear.  This table will  include the learner's quizzes activities in all courses.

 Course Progress Widget

Enabling the Course Progress Widget allows the Course Progress table to appear. This table will include the learner's enrolled courses and a high level overview of each course.

The Course Progress Widget can be modified by enabling/disabling the following collumns: 

  • Progress, a graphical representation of completed activities (based off completion standards) vs all activities.

  • Grade, as displayed in Gradebook

  • Enrolled, Enrollment Date

  • Completed, Course Completion Date

The Course Progress Widget also can include the Course Category(ies) total enrollments by enabling Category.

 Activity Participation

Enabling Activity Participation will show learners all activities in all courses, organized by activity type.  Blue bar represents how many total activities there are of that typ, red bar represents how many times they have viewed the activities, yellow bar represents how many activities they have completed based off activity completion standards.

 Learning

Enabling Learning will show learners the amount of time she/he has spent on all activities of the same activity type.

 Course Success

Enabling Course Success will display a pie graph of completed vs non completed courses, as determined by course completion standards.

Settings: Learner Dashboard Courses

 Enable Courses

Enabling Courses under Learner Dashboard Courses will display "Courses" tab which will allow Learners to see all courses that they are enrolled in, progress and details.
NOTE: “Courses [grid] background color” allows you to select a color of course tiles.

 Course Teacher, Course Category, Course Completion, Course Grade, Course Average, Course Time Spent

Enabling Course Teacher, Course Category, Course Completion, Course Grade, Course Average and Course Time Spent under Learners Dashboard will allow Learners to see the related data in a course box on the tab.

 Enable Grades

Enabling Grades under Learner Dashboard allow Learners to see their grades in courses and to track their progress.
NOTE: You may rename this tab by entering an Alternative text for navigation menu.

When Grades tab is enabled, you may customize columns visible in the report.

Course Start Date - a start date of the course as set.
Enrolled Date - a date when learner was enrolled into the course.
Progress - learner’s current course grade (in percentage) shown as a bar. A percentage number may be found by hoverovering.
Progress - Goal Grade - a goal course grade (in percentage) shown on a progress bar as a bold line. A percentage number may be found by hoverovering.
Progress - Class Average - a course average grade (in percentage) shown on a progress bar as a dotted line. A percentage number may be found by hoverovering.
Letter - learner’s course letter grade.
Completed Activities - the number of course activities completed by the learner.
Grade - current course grade (in persantage).
Course Completion Status - course completion status and date (based on Moodle completion settings).

 Grades > Activities page setup

Selecting "Activities" under Activity Grades column will open new page with Activities in the course. Data on this page may also be customized.

[Activity Grades header] Completed on - course completion status and date (based on Moodle completion settings).
[Activity Grades header] Last access on course - the data when learner accessed the course at last.
[Activity Grades] Type - type of the selected activity.
[Activity Grades] Grade - learner’s activity grade.
[Activity Grades] Graded - the date when learner was graded within the activity.
[Activity Grades] Completed - activity completion status and date (based on Moodle completion settings).
[Activity Grades] Time Spent - total time spent on the selected activity.
