If the Instructor Dashboard does not appear, please contact your LMS System Administrator to check your role and permissions.  The Instructor Dashboard is automatically associated with the Teacher Role in the LMS System; you do not need your own IntelliBoard account to access the Dashboard.

To access the Instructor Dashboard:

  1. From the Navigation Block in your LMS system, click "Instructor Dashboard".

Instructor Dashboard contains 2 global filters which will be applied to the whole Dashboard tab.

  1. Select course(s) from the drop-down to configure the dashboard to show you the data only by these course(s).

  1. Overview charts

 Overview - Learner Progress

This bar graph displays your active courses and the learners enrolled in those courses. The blue bars represent the number of learners in each of your active courses; the green line represents the number of students who have completed each course. Hover over a bar for a tool-tip providing the course name and the number of enrolled/completed learners.

NOTE: When IntelliBoard highlights "Completion", it is referring to the course and/or activity completion status that must be enabled and configured in the Moodle system.

 Overview - Grade Progress

This bar graph displays the average grade in each of your courses.  The blue bars represent the average grade in each of your active courses; the green line represents the passing grade for the courses, as entered in the LMS system.  Hover over a bar for a tool-tip providing the course name and the average grade.

This bar graph displays the percentage of completed activities in each of your courses.  The blue bars represent the percentage of completed activities.  Hover over a bar for a tool-tip providing the course name and the percentage of completed activities.

 Overview - Course Overview

First select a particular course from the drop down menu to the left of "Course Overview" (circled in blue). 

Click on "Activity" in the switcher to get a bar graph that displays the time spent in each activity in the selected course. The blue bars represent the time spent. Hover over a bar for a tool-tip providing the activity name and the total time spent.

Click on "Topics" in the switcher to get a bar graph that displays the time spent by topics in the selected course. The blue bars represent the time spent. Hover over a bar for a tool-tip providing the topic name and the total time spent.

 Overview - Totals

The bottom bar indicates your total active courses (TOTAL COURSES), total learners enrolled in your courses (TOTAL LEARNERS), and the total number of graded activities in all of your active courses (TOTAL COURSE GRADES).

  1. Current Progress and Total Students 

 Current Progress and Total Students

Current Progress graph displays the percentage of learners in all of your courses who completed your course(s). The completion status must be enabled in your LMS system. The green represents completed learners; the red represents incomplete learners. The Learner Avg. Grade is the average grade of all learners in all of your active courses.

Total Students graph displays the active learners during a selected time range. Hover over the red segment (inactive students) and the green segment (active users) for additional details. Activity is based on access to selected in filter course. Access date is pulled from IntelliBoard time tracking table. 

Learners enrolled in the selected time period will populate in the first row. 

Active learner's average time spent in the site will appear in the second row.

Correlations graph shows the relationship between the average grade for the course against learner total time spent. The vertical axis displays the average grade; the horizontal axis displays total time spent. Hover over a dot for a tool-tip providing the average grade and the time spent on course.

Learner Engagement graph displays the percent of students engaging in an activity during a selected time period in a chosen course.  Activities are displayed along the horizontal axis. The percentage of students engaging in the activity is displayed along the vertical axis. Hover over a data point for additional details.

Student Grade Progression graph displays the relationship between the average grade for the course against learner course grade. The vertical axis displays learner's course grade (in percents); the horizontal axis displays the date when the grade was taken.  Hover over a dot for a tool-tip providing the learner's grade and the average grade on date.

 Event, Activity and Topic Utilization

Event Utilization pie chart displays the amount of time your learners are spending in your courses.  Hover over the different sections for a tool-tip providing the percentage as well as the total amount of time (hh:mm:ss). The key is at the bottom.  If there is a blue triangle, additional values exist and you should click the blue triangle.

Activity Utilization pie chart displays the amount of time your learners are spending in activities in a selected course during a selected time period (hh:mm:ss, hours:minutes:seconds). Hover over each segment for additional details.

Topic Utilization pie chart displays the amount of time your learners are spending in topics in a selected course during a selected time period (hh:mm:ss; hours:minutes:seconds). Hover over each segment for additional details.

This bar graph displays average grades of activities in the selected course. The blue bars represent the average grade of activities. Hover over a bar for a tool-tip providing the activity name and the average grade of activities.  

Export this graph in needed format by XLS, CSV or PDF doc button in the top right corner of the graph.

Course Column Overview

  1. Search Bar: Type a search term in the search bar and click "Search" to filter the report by search term. 

  2. Remove/Add Columns: Click the "-" button after any Column Header to remove the column; click the "+" button to add the column.

  3. Columns: Click the Column Header to sort data in that column.

  4. Export: Download the report in any of 3 formats (Excel, CSV, or PDF).

  5. Reset Table Preferences: After manipulating any part of the report, a blue "Reset table preferences" link will appear.  After clicking this link, the full report will reappear. 

  6. Actions: Clicking the buttons "Learner" or "Activities" will pull up additional information. Review report details after the Course Column Overview.

NOTE: Completion refers to course and/or activity completion; these must be enabled and configured to display in IntelliBoard.

Course Column Overview

Course Name: The course name as entered in your LMS system; clicking the hyperlink will open the Course in the LMS system

Short Name: The course short name as entered in your LMS system

Category: The course category as entered in the LMS system

Enrolled/Completed Learners: The first number is the number of learners in the associated course; the second number is the number of complete learners in the associated course.  The blue bar is a graphical representation of completed learners.  

Course Average Grade: The average grade of all learners in the associated course

Sections: The number of components in the associated course (i.e. Weeks, Grid, etc.)

Activities/Resources: The number of activities and resources in the associated course

Visits: The total number of visits (mouse clicks) by learners to the associated course

Time Spent: The total amount of time learners spent in the associated course (hh:mm:ss; hours: minutes: seconds)

Average Visits Per Student: The average visits (mouse clicks) by learners to the associated course

Average Time Spent Per Student: The average amount of time learners spent in the associated course (hh:mm:ss; hours: minutes: seconds)

Actions: Click the "Learner" or "Activities" Button for additional information.

This gives you specific information about each learner in your course. The information across the top contains the previous reports' information on the specific course and has the same functionality as the first report.  Click the "Return to Courses" button to return to the previous report. (Circled)

Learner Name: The learner name as entered in the LMS system; clicking the hyperlink will open the Learner's public information in the LMS system

Email Address: The learner's email address as entered in the LMS system

Enrolled: The date the learner was enrolled in the course

Last Access: The date the learner last accessed the course

Status: The status of the learner in the course (Completion must be enabled in the LMS system)

Visits: The number of times the learner has been to the course
