Report: Courses by Category

Description:

View course summaries grouped by category with multilevel aggregations for learners, completions, grades, visits, participations, and time spent. Designed for Registrars, LMS Admins, and Leadership, it delivers actionable insights into course activity and performance. Filters include category, course, and term.

Roles that may benefit from this report:
Academic Leadership: Can use to evaluate and compare the performance and engagement of courses within different categories, aiding in curriculum planning and resource allocation.

Registrar: A registrar would use the report to maintain accurate records of course details and ensure that courses are categorized correctly for reporting and compliance purposes.

LMS Admin: An LMS admin would use the report to monitor the setup and performance of courses across categories, ensuring system integrity and addressing any technical or administrative issues.

Header Data:

This data updates when filters are utilized.

Students: Total number of Learners in the report

Courses: Total number of Courses in the report

Course

Friendly name (or everyday name) for the course. This is not attached to the URL for the course in the LMS. It is useful when downloading a report as .csv or .xlsx file.

Term

The name of the term, a set period of time often used to organize courses, as defined on the connected platform

Teachers

Instructor(s) for course

Learners

Total number of users with learner roles that are enrolled in a course.

Term Start

Date when the term begins, as defined in the connected platform

Course Start

Date for the scheduled start of the course

Average Grade

The average grade of students in the class, determined by taking the average of all current grades in the course

Visits

Total number of visits by all users to a course.

Participations

Total number of participations by users in a course.

Time Spent

Total amount of time spent by user in the course on the LMS

Hidden Columns in Report: (Columns can be shown or hidden by sliding the corresponding toggle in the columns menu.)

Course ID

The unique value automatically created for each course by the connected LMS system
