Description: The First Submission Monitoring Dashboard combines two datasets, both narrowed to users with a learner role in the course. Activities included in the datasets are assignments, forum/discussions, and quizzes.
Roles that may benefit from this report:
Instructor: An instructor would use the First Submission Monitoring Dashboard to identify which students have not yet submitted their assignments, forum/discussions, or quizzes, enabling targeted follow-ups and support.
Registrar: A registrar would use the dashboard to track student participation and submission activity, ensuring compliance with enrollment and reporting requirements.
Academic Advisor: An academic advisor would monitor students' submission statuses to provide timely interventions and support for students at risk of falling behind.

Total Learners with Missing Submission: Total number of unique learners that are missing submission. Some learners may missing submissions in multiple courses, but are only counted once for this data field.
Missing Learner Submission (Assignment, Forum/Discussion, or Quiz)
The Missing Learner Submission identifies users with learner role with an active enrollment in a course who have not submitted an assignment, forum/discussion or quiz to a course. Users who have submitted an assignment, forum/discussion or quiz to the relevant course are not in this dataset. This datasets is often used to encourage students to complete an item to confirm financial aid.

User SIS ID
An arbitrary ID code number, perhaps from the institution
Term
The name of the term, a set period of time often used to organize courses, as defined on the connected platform
Course Name
Course name as it appears in the LMS system. It is a clickable link to the course page in the LMS. You must be logged in the LMS to have access.
Course Start Date
Date for the scheduled start of the course
Enrollment Status
Displays the status of a learner’s enrollment: Active, Inactive, Deleted, or Completed
First Submission
Date of First Submission of Assignment, Forum/Discussion, or Quiz in the course. Returns as “Never” if submission has not yet occurred.
Hidden Columns in Report: (Columns can be shown or hidden by sliding the corresponding toggle in the columns menu.)

Friendly name (or everyday name) for the course. This is not attached to the URL for the course in the LMS. It is useful when downloading a report as .csv or .xlsx file.

First Learner Submission (Assignment, Forum/Discussion, Quiz)
The Learner First Submission identifies users with learner role with an active enrollment in a course who have submitted an assignment, forum/discussion or quiz in a selected time period. Users who have not submitted to one of these activity types is not included in the dataset. This datasets is often used as a base for Census reporting.
